Yee Eun Nam Design



Yee Eun Nam is a visual artist and theater designer specializing in live performances and digital media. Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, she studied painting, sculpture, video design, and metal craft.

Her recent projects include X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X at the Metropolitan Opera, Yellow Face on Broadway at Roundabout Theatre Company, A Transparent Musical at Center Theatre Group (CTG), Once Upon a (Korean) Time at Ma-Yi Theater Company, and Long Day’s Journey into Night at Audible Theater.

She has contributed to numerous opera and music projects, including work with the Metropolitan Opera, Detroit Opera, Opera Omaha, LA Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Saint Louis, the Kennedy Center, San Francisco Symphony, REDCAT, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, New World Center, and The Soraya. Her theater credits span Roundabout Theatre Company (Broadway), Audible Theater, Ma-Yi Theater Company, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Goodman Theatre, Mark Taper Forum (CTG), A.C.T., South Coast Rep, Pasadena Playhouse, Geffen Playhouse, The Movement Theatre Company, Kansas City Rep, Deaf West Theatre, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Getty Villa, Latino Theater Company, and many more. She has also designed visuals for events such as the CTG Gala, SFS Lunar New Year, and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

Yee Eun Nam has received two Lucille Lortel Award nominations for her work on Long Day’s Journey into The Night (2022) and Once Upon A (korean) Time(2023) She is also the recipient of the LADCC Theatrical Excellence Award for CGI/Video in 2023 for TWILIGHT 1992  and in 2020 for Mother of Henry .  In 2022, she founded the experimental visual design studio PIGMENT DESIGN LAB .  She is a member of United Scenic Artists, Local 829, and holds an MFA in Theater Design from UCLA and a BFA in Design and Metal Craft from SNU in Seoul, Korea.
